Environmental Health News (EHN) is the official magazine for members of The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health. In 2016, it celebrated 30 years in circulation.
The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) is a registered charity and the professional voice for environmental health. As a leading membership body, our industry professionals are highly skilled and qualified individuals whose varied and challenging work makes a real difference to people’s health and well-being across the globe.
As the only high-quality magazine solely devoted to the environmental health sector, EHN reports on topical news issues and contains in-depth news analysis, expert opinion and commentary, legal prosecutions and best practice advice for industry. EHN is a vital and unparalleled source of information and CPD opportunities for all readers, making it one of the most read professional publications for the environmental health industry worldwide.
The magazine, website and fortnightly news bulletin (EHN extra) cover the main subject areas of environmental health: food safety, health and safety, environmental protection, private housing and public health. EHN is also the main recruitment medium for the environmental health profession in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, supported by a dedicated EHN-Jobs website and weekly email job alerts. Profits made by the magazine are gift-aided to the CIEH charity.
EHN is distributed monthly to CIEH members, as well as subscribers and opinion formers such as MPs and managers in commerce, government agencies and local government. Many of EHN’s stories (for example on animal diseases affecting humans, lifestyle issues like obesity, food contamination, flooding and global warming) are also of great interest to the national media.
