Overview, Guidelines and Permissible Uses
EHN Online is a place for CIEH members and environmental health professionals to comment on news and information articles as well as rank the comments of other users. Like any community, the site is most valuable when everyone follows certain basic guidelines and rules of conduct.
Article comments are intended only as a way for visitors to get answers from other visitors and not necessarily to get answers from the CIEH or the EHN Editorial team. You agree that postings do not constitute notice to CIEH for any purpose, legal or otherwise. The comments feature is not a substitute for contacting the CIEH directly.
Comment moderators may not respond to every post. EHN Online is a place for users to discuss topics of interest with other users. Comment moderators will review article comments, and respond at their discretion.
Be respectful of other users. Some users may be new to computing and may not have extensive knowledge of computers and their use. Derogatory remarks are not conducive to the creation of a strong online community.
Links to Other Sites
EHN Online permits users to post hypertext links to content hosted and maintained by third parties. Although linked sites are not generally reviewed by moderators, links are subject to treatment like any other type of content posted to the site. You may not include a link in the site that directs users to any content or information that, if posted on the site, would constitute a violation of these Terms of Service.
The linked sites are not moderated by the CIEH and are not under its control, and your access to any linked site is at your own risk. You should use your own judgment before you use any link or access any linked site. When leaving the site using any link provided by a user, you should be aware that these Terms of Service no longer apply. If you access a linked site and find the materials to be in violation of these Terms of Service, you may report the link as described below.
The CIEH makes no claim or representation regarding, and accepts no responsibility for, the quality, content, nature or reliability of sites accessible by hyperlink from EHN Online. The ability to include links is provided only as a convenience to you, and the inclusion of any link by a user of site does not imply affiliation, endorsement, or adoption by CIEH of the linked site or any information contained therein.
The comments facilities we may offer on EHN Online from time to time shall consist of content posted by users including text, questions, comments, suggestions, postings, third party information and/or links, communications, software, images, sounds, data, or any other information (together the "User Content").
CIEH does not pre-screen, verify or edit the user content posted by users and does not take responsibility for the accuracy of user content. It is up to the person submitting the information and the persons reading the information to check its accuracy. You are solely responsible for your own communications, the consequences of submitting those communications, and your reliance on any user content. CIEH is not responsible for the consequences of user content. However, the CIEH reserves the right to investigate any violation of these Terms of Service and to take appropriate remedial action including editing and/or removing user content from EHN Online in our absolute discretion and without notice or liability to you. CIEH may also release information concerning your use of EHN Online (including posted content, registration information, and network records) when we believe release is necessary or appropriate to comply with the law.
To report violations of these Terms of Service, please contact the CIEH Marketing department via email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
